I love to read, and I have a wide variety of genres I enjoy: historical, biographies, Christian, mysteries, and graphic novels are just a few. I review books on my blog at http://christysbookblog.blogspot.com as well as Amazon.com, Reviewer's Bookshelf on Midwest Book Review, MySpace, and the Oconto Falls blog.

Oh, now I know I really need to get the Prisoner of Versailles if you say it's that good! I just finished The Believer by Ann Gabhart a few days ago and now I am starting on The Outsider by her as well. Gosh, I really enjoyed The Believer and I know The Outsider is going to be just as good. I've been sick with cold and fever though, so I haven't been online much lately because of it. I am still trying to recover... It can really drain a person! Anyway, I hope you enjoy your weekend!!

Yeah, I am very amased that Ann Gabhart was ablle to pull off an interesting romance dealing with the Shaker community as well!! I'm so glad I picked up one of her books. Let me know how the Prisoner of Versailles is!!! It looks really good!!!

So you read The Believer by Ann Gabhart? What did you think? I am just starting it and I think it's really interesting so far. I also plan to read The Outsider as well.

I been been meaning to read a few of Lynn Austin's books but haven't got around to it yet. My to-read list is way out there. So isn't The Broken Teaglass a mystery novel? I don't read many mysteries but I want to feel my way towards them more later down the road. Well, lately, I've mostly read fantasy/paranormal stuff. But I'm getting a little bored of them and leaning back more towards reading some Amish and historical romance reads. But I just finished reading a crazy book called Rampant by Diane Peterfreund. It was pretty interesting as well but very into the fantasy genre. Currently I'm reading an easy read called Raven by Allison Van Diepen. I like it too, but like I said, soon I'm planning to read some different genres.

Hi. I see that you have read the book "Sometimes a Light Surprises" by Jamie Turner and is the only person besides myself that wrote a review. I just finished it. I'm just curious on what you thought of the book as you read it. How did it make you feel? For me, I have to say that it was very heartwarming and calming. Some parts made me kind of sad, like when Kelly's mother dies, and some parts even made me think that if I was more like Ben (and in some cases, I am), if a person like Kelly were to come into my life and essentually change how I felt about it, what kind of changes would I go through?
Overall, I thought it was well written and certainly the kind of story for anyone to read that is struggling with damaged relationships and is looking for hope in a world where you think there is none.
By the way, the name's "BookStore". I love books and I collect them. I see that you do too!

You have an interesting taste in genres! A girl who likes Christian stuff along with other stuff... which is good! I'm a little bit that way too!

How's your reading coming? Mine is going pretty well. I just finished a book last night. A Nora Roberts one and now I am reading Light on Snow by Anita Shreve. This is like the fourth book that I am reading by her. The last couple of books that i just read by her, I sat and read them in like a day and a half or something. I couldn't put them down.

THANKS! Looks like several good options and none of these authors were even on my radar. I really appreciate it. My daughter's made some comments lately that make me think she'd be really interested (and could use the reinforcement from an outside source).

Are there any YA Christian authors you'd recommend? I'm trying to come up with some suggestions for my 13 year old. Any help would be appreciated!

I see you have Thomas Jefferson on your shelf. The Chronological Read of American History Group at http://www.shelfari.com/groups/34700/about has selected it as the September read. Hope you can stop in and join the conversation!

I can't believe I hit 300. I've been out of work for a week and keep telling myself I'm screwed if they say we can't. But that shouldn't be a problem.

How did you find out about our assignment for the race? I'm a bit confused by the book tag site.
I am willing to do either country as well. Which one comes first or does it matter?

Hi Christy -- Are you sure you have the right Julie? I've kind of forgone Shelfari since I made FB my life and haven't checked in on PBT in AGES! That is definitely something I need to and will be going to remedy. If it's not a mistake, I will gladly take part in the challenge after I read what it's about (and for the record, I prefer England to China!)
