I ve loved reading for as long as I can remember and although I was once a voracious fiction lover, I find most of my current reading is either entertainment-, tech-, or business related (because of work and school pursuits). A friend and I are currently working on writing a book, so I'm looking to soak up as many different types of books as my... more »

Hi. sorry it's taken so long to reply. My old pc went up in smoke and it has taken an age to get myself back on track, but here I am...at last!
Yes, I've juts had another book accepted for publication. My latest, The Pawnbroker, came out last week, and my next is due out next April.
I don't think there is any real secret. Stories pop into my head on a fairly regular basis, and I quickly jot down the bare bones before I forget. I try and write every day, but as I also work as a teacher this is not always possible. At the weekends I can usually get out about 6,000 words, sometimes more. It all depends. But the summer is my most prolific time. When I am on holiday from school. I get up very early, round about 6.30, and just write and write until around 2pm. I have a short break, but this is pretty much what I do every day. I can get a novel of around 75,000-90,000 words finished over the break.
Of course, I then after to edit, and this is the slow part. BUT, you just have to keep going. I love writing, it's what keeps me alive...well, being in love also helps, but that's something else entirely!
My publisher is a small independent (I have 2 publishers, one of whom is in the States. They publish e-books and I would love to do more of these). This means I have to do most of the marketing myself, and this can be a real drag.
Fortunately, I don't have to write to make a living, but it would be great if I could get that big break. There is simply nothing more I would rather do that write full-time. I'll just have to keep on trying.
Well, I hope this has given you some sort of insight into how I get through. If there's any way I can help, please let me know. All of work is on amazon, so please check my books out if you have the time.
    All the best.

I wanted to apologize to any of my friends here on Shelfari who got the impression that my Halloween "BOO"k was spam. I really did not intend for it to be perceived that way. If I could put a smile or brighten someone's day with a simple gesture, then I would do it in a heart beat (espeacially, considering the times that we live in now).

I hope you all have fun this Halloween because I know I enjoy the heck out of it! :)

Then that's the one. the sequel is easy too. How was "How to make friends and influence people"? I read it years ago and think it helped me a lot at the time to feel better prepared to just talk to new people. Also this seems to be the best way to talk about books and not get made fun of by our spouses.

"How to win friends & influence people" is a really good book. Its been out a long time but it works. I read it years ago. I'm glad you liked "same soul different bodies". It had some neat ideas. Now that you read that "Gargoyle" would be a good read. Great story.

    See Ya!

Yeah, no problem. I think you would like " I'm Perfect, Your Doomed " . It's an interesting look at Jehovah.

Thanks. I'll look into it. It's nice to read all the reviews. Plus I hope I can help some one decide what to read. Anyway your shelf also looks pretty varied. That's nice to see people branching out.
