I have loved reading for years! I used to be a flight attendant so I would always find different books people would leave behind on the plane. It renewed my love for reading and I have been going strong every since. It is one of my favorite pastimes. I love the fact you can escape from your crazy day with a book and a cup of cappuccino. Hey young lady how the heck are you? I am ok. Work is work--still looking for something new. haha I am up for a raise this week--bet I will see 50 cents if I am lucky. lol I am not kidding, they are that cheap.

I have been to a few concerts this summer, Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow and Van Halen. They were all good, but I liked Tom Petty the best tho. He was great and played for almost 2 hours.

I am almost done with Summer Sisters by Judy Blume. I like it. Ever read it??

Have a good weekend and chat more later.

Hi Cindy---thanks for the invite as a friend! I love to read too....I look forward to hearing your suggestions....I haven't been able to read much this summer and it's a bummer, hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things soon. Nice to hear you're in KC.....

Hey happy New Year! Sounds like you are just a tad busy lately! lol How is the job going, you like it?? My Christmas was good, just hung out and took Yvonne to see The Golden Compass--that was not too bad. I may take her to see the new National Treasure flick later on!

Jodi Picoult is one of my favourite authors. You may like to listen to her presentation at a writers' conference:

Have you read "Bright Lights, Big Ass"? It's the second book by the same author (Jen Lancaster) of "Bitter is the New Black". It was really funny. If you want something more serious, both of the Khaled Hosseini novels are amazing. (Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns). I am about to start Water for Elephants and will let you know what I think!

Hey! You've had a busy summer!! And it looks like you're going away again? I'm taking vaca in 3 weeks. Still trying to decide between the beach or the mountains. Great thing about living where I do...I'm only a few hours away from both!!
Having a child in HS has GOT to be scary!! Just remember all the things WE did that our parents never knew about! I guess by today's standards I was pretty tame. The most I ever did was go joy riding in my bf's brother's car at night (we were only 14 at the time!). Guess you'll be making more visits to your hairdresser to get those grey's covered up!! LOL!!!
Have fun on your trip! Talk atcha' later!!!! ~Claire

I loved your pics!! What I wouldn't give to be in Paris right now! London and Paris are two of my favorite cities in Europe.
I haven;t read Water for elephants yet but its on my list. I've heard good things about it. I just started heart shaped box. Have you read it? I'm only a few pages in, it's ok. I hope it picks up. All of my friends with kids are thrilled they go back to school soon lol... so congrats! We're spending Labor day in NJ. Lots of BBQ's and days on the beach, I can't wait to just relax!
Hope you have a fantastic vacation and I'll talk to you soon.

Hey how are you?? I am getting my daughter ready for grad school -- she is moving in next Thursday!! Man this summer has flown by!!

I have finished reading a few days back--Whale Song by Cheryl Kaye Tardif..I liked that alot!! There are a few more of her books I would like to check out too.

This online dating scoop?? I have met some interesting people--to say the least! lol But a few normal ones too!! I am on 3 different sites: singlesnet, Plentyoffish, and Match.com--what about you?? I get more responses from Singlesnet and Match.com..and in the last 2 weeks I have met 3 guys--one from Singlesnet and the others from Match. They seemed normal but I did not like the guy I met up with last Friday--to shy for my taste! lol The one I met up with last night lives almost an hour away..do not know if I feel like driving that far to meet?

Got one good story for ya(plus a few others..lol! That will be another day!), I met this guy a couple weeks back and we met up at 99 for drinks. Talked about maybe doing something that weekend....and he suggests that he picks me up at my house?? NOT! I told him so, and he goes off on how he is a gentleman and what do I think he would do in the space of a 6 minute ride from my house to the club (we were gonna listen to a local band play there) ???? It is more like what would you not do??? And he just left it how I must not have a very high opinion of him and he is glad that he found out now how I get pissed without understanding the other partners point of view??(yes that is how he phrased it!!) So needless to say I have not heard from him since....his loss! lol So my advice?? Always meet at in a public place!! lol

Have a good weekend and talk to ya soon!!

Hey Sister! Love your new icon! I haven't been on here in forever! Would love some pool time and a giant glass of our peach tea! We should do that again soon - in the evening after it cools off some! Whew! 100 degrees is just too hot - even with tea! ha

Hi! We're in Port Sanilac, MI right now and leaving tomorrow for Mackinac Island, MI. I am just loving this trip. We pretty much make up our minds where to go next at each stop and then make a reservation. I am enjoying this just as much as I imagined I would! Finally got some pictures posted. If you'll send me your email address, I'll send you some. If you don't want to post your address on here, send it to me at rebecca06281@hotmail.com. Glad your getting some reading done. I'm just getting started reading--takes a while to get settled and get my concentration back to where it should be! Hope to hear from you soon.

I think Metro Girl is pretty good - I'm a Plum addict, so it was hard for me to switched gears. I really ended up liking the main character and I can't wait for Motor Mouth to come out in paperback. I hear it is laugh out loud funny!
Summer is good and I can't wait until Sat when the last Harry Potter is released...I know what I am doing all weekend!!!!

Niagara Falls was great! Too bad you couldn't have been here today. We did Maid of the Mist and it was fantastic! I didn't think I'd particularly like it, but DH wanted to do it so badly, I went along and loved every minute!! We're off to Sandusky OH tomorrow. I'm not sure what we're doing there, but it's on Lake Erie and DH loves the water, so we'll see!
