Yep I started off with 'I am Number 4' I love it! I haven't started 'The Hunger Games' but I read the blurb on the back and it sounds kinds like this book I read before and I loved it! Have you read the Twilight series? If you have then I have a book kinda like it. If you want it after me I'll give it to you. It is called 'Mortal Kiss'.

    Hey Chrisie!
It's Rosie here. made a new account on Shelfari. I am currently following you but I don't know how to add people as friends, so could you add me?
Wow... you have read so many books. I hope I can read that many. You should read the books 'If I Stay' and 'Where She Went'. 'Where She Went' is the sequel to 'If I Stay'. They are both really good! :)

    (A reason to smile :D)
The kids filed back into class Monday morning. They were very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.
Little Sally led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30," she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."
    "Very good," said the teacher.
    Little Jenny was next:
"I sold magazines," she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events."
"Very good, Jenny," said the teacher..
Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn.
The teacher held her breath ...
Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467,"
    "$2,467!" cried the teacher,
"What in the world were you selling"
    "Toothbrushes," said Little Johnny.
    "Toothbrushes," echoed the teacher,
"How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?"
"I found the busiest corner in town," said Little Johnny, "I set up a Dip & Chip stand, I gave everybody who walked by a free sample."
They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog shit!"
Then I would say,"It is dog shit. Wanna buy a toothbrush?"
"I used the Obama governmental approach of giving you something shitty, but looks good, for free, and then making you pay to get the shitty taste out of your mouth."
    The teacher was speechless. . . . . . . .
Little Johnny got 5 stars for his efforts, bless his heart.

    Hello Merkie,

Thanks for your friendship on Shelfari. I requested your friendship because you are so well read and I thought from looking at your shelf that my story may appeal to you. I am a new author, and when I began writing my own series, ‘Mayne Attraction’, I used Stephenie (Twilight) Meyer's style as a guide, working very hard to capture that strong emotional pull toward the characters and the enthusiasm for their love that she achieved so well in her story. If you enjoyed Bella's realism and modesty and Edward's obsessive, desperate attachment to her, and if you enjoyed reading how it played out in mysterious and exciting turns and twists, then I'm sure you'll enjoy my book, "Mayne Attraction: In The Spotlight", about a girl (Ellery 'Mayne') who discovers that a security team has been secretly shadowing and protecting her. As the mystery of their presence unravels she faces decisions about her future and the hopes of two love interests: a handsome but conflicted security specialist (Ash) who doesn't realize she knows about him, and her first love, (Gray) a guy who broke her heart, that suddenly returns to explain his actions and his feelings for her.

If you're curious enough to read more, you can check it out at http:\\www.mayneattraction.com where about half the novel is posted for you to read for free as a preview online. There are also photos of the real locations where certain scenes take place and music that the characters enjoy to round out your experience when you visit. The series contains three books, each told from the perspective of one of the three main characters in the romantic triangle at the heart of the story.

Just like with Midnight Sun, some of my very favorite chapters are told from the point of view of the "Edward" of my story, Ash Ryan. He's a security specialist who's fallen desperately in love with Ellery, but he and his team are enjoying the easiest, most incredibly high paying job any of them have ever had. They will lose the contract if Ellery finds out about them, so he can only watch her life and not participate in it without betraying his friends and colleagues. When she surprises him by reaching out to him in secret, it's like a dream come true for him, until Gray shows up and it all turns into a new kind of nightmare...

A few of the scenes from Ash's story ‘In The Shadow’ are also posted on the site, but his book is not quite finished—it should be available this fall.

I hope you'll check out the site and the story (www.MayneAttraction.com). If you do, and you like it, please leave a comment at the bottom of any chapter; and adding it to your shelf here at Shelfari and/or posting a nice review about for others to consider would be fantastic :) That would mean the world to me!!! I hope to hear from you soon. You would be my first reader from Ireland!

Thank you so much Merkie! (and sorry for the long note!)

Hi, Merkie, Thanks for asking. The Last Day is about the coming of a female messiah who may--or may not--be the real thing, and stirs up the world's paternalistic religious establishment. New book, The Knowledge of Good & Evil, is about ex priest driven to know if there is indeed an afterlife, and stumbles across means to do so--with unexpected results. Given you are from Holland, and now Ireland, you may be interested to hear that the works of Hieronymus Bosch play an important role in next book, as does St. Patrick's Purgatory in Lough Derg. What are you reading now? All the best,

Hi chrissy! Sorry for the late response. I haven't seen your shelf. I will take a peek later. If you're into fantasy, then i recommend you read the house of night series. Twilight is so much better (it's my favorite!!). This series comes in 2nd for me. The story is fast paced so i didn't get bored. Of course, the romantic twist helped also! I can't wait for the next installment actually. Let me know if you like it or not :)
