Hi, Christine --Thanks for the request of friendship. Looks like we have a few books in common, some similar tastes, as well. I see all the Paul Auster on your shelf - I've seen the films "Smoke" and "Blue in the Face" and "Lulu on the Bridge" but have yet to read a novel by him. Any suggestions on which one I should start off with?-- Justin

Are you a fan of the beats? Years ago, my father owned a tavern & Jack Kerouac was one of his customers. My father didn't believe Kerouac was a writer. He thought he was just an obnoxious, drunk. I went in one day & met Kerouac. My father wasn't entirely wrong.I read alot of non-fiction too. I loved _Guns, Germs_ & Steel_. Recently I read a book called _1491_ about the population of the Americas before the Europeans. The author used a lot of Diamond's analytical techniques & I thought it was excellent. Might be that you'd have to be a "new worlder" to appreciate it tho.
Is Swedish your 1st language? But you read in English? What's your favorite of the books you've read in recent months?
