Have you read anything by Jeffrey Steingarten? He puts alot of humor into his cooking exploits. He is actually the food writer for Vogue (or was, haven't checked in awhile) He has at least 2 books. I love that you read Lauri Godwin. I used to read her in Gourmet while I was in Culinary School and thought her pieces were so warm and emotional you could actually smell the food. Than one month I opened Gourmet and found out she had died suddenly, very young. It broke my heart. She was such a great foodie. She also wrote a few novels but nothing like her culinary essays.Boy I rambled there.Talk to you soon

excellent shelf. You gave high ratings to some of my very favorites, like : The Pooh Stories, Time Traveler's Wife, Bell Jar, Time and Again and Life of Pi.
