Looks like we have a bunch of the same books in our to do lists. maybe we can chat in what order you are reading them. I find the more books I have in my to read pile the harder it is for me to chose the next one. Do you still have your blog? I had it in my bookmarks on the computer so I could just click on it and it seems to have disappeared and I hate to admit it but I forgot the title. I'd love to peruse your books bought and read piles. If you don't have the blog, well i'llmiss it. Let me know if you have the time. i'd appreciate it. I hope you get loads of literature for the holidays. Ello

Have you read anything by Jeffrey Steingarten? He puts alot of humor into his cooking exploits. He is actually the food writer for Vogue (or was, haven't checked in awhile) He has at least 2 books. I love that you read Lauri Godwin. I used to read her in Gourmet while I was in Culinary School and thought her pieces were so warm and emotional you could actually smell the food. Than one month I opened Gourmet and found out she had died suddenly, very young. It broke my heart. She was such a great foodie. She also wrote a few novels but nothing like her culinary essays.
    Boy I rambled there.
    Talk to you soon

I just started Twitter today. What a lark that I found a Shelfari friend. You have a great collection. I couldn't help notice your fantastic taste in books in the culinary field (books on cooking. not cookbooks) I'm a chef as well as an obsessive reader and just love reading about food.
I've got to sleep now but i would love to have a nice chat with you sometime.
    cheers!

excellent shelf. You gave high ratings to some of my very favorites, like : The Pooh Stories, Time Traveler's Wife, Bell Jar, Time and Again and Life of Pi. Since you liked 2 of my 3 favorite time travel books I would like to suggest the 3rd- Replay by Grimwood. I am really into Janet Fitch right now- White Oleander and Paint it Black. thank you for listening. -John
