    I'm reading Fragments right now, the book you mentioned. In the prologue it mentions that Anna Strasberg, who was Lee Strasberg's widow inherited all of Marilyn's stuff. She owns the rights to her image, etc. From what I hear, she guards it closely. And her and Marilyn never knew each other since he was married to Paula when Marilyn died.

    I got the Spoto book as a bday present when it came out. I don't agree with his death theory but I didn't think it was a bad read. I don't know about Jeanne Carmen, but Slatzer has been discredited recently.

    I didn't read the Vogue article but it sounds similar to one I read in Vanity Fair recently. It was cool seeing her stuff. Weird that the Strasbergs donated Marilyn's stuff to people who never knew her and they're making millions off of it.

    Have you read Milton's Marilyn? Not much text but full of the stunning pics he took of her. I've seen most of them, but it's still a great little book to have. It was put together by his son and it's about the family's relationship w/M.

    Hi, I noticed that you don't have Spoto's biography of Marilyn on your shelf. It's one of the more recent ones, although I doubt that Eunice and the shrink killed her with an enema, as he claims. He dismisses Bob Slatzer, Jeanne Carmen, etc., the people who claimed to be so close to her. None of these people were in her address book that was found many years after she died. I agree with him there. It's worth a read.
    OT, I DVR'ed Niagara and watched it last night. It'd been a while since I'd seen it. She was great in that movie and so gorgeous!

    Well, I have never read him either, but somebody told me I really need too. They had six of his books at Good Will for .59 a piece, so I bought them. I really have no desire to read them, though. Maybe it will give Christian something to read when he moves in since he's always complaining I only have "girl" books. :-)

    I like both historical and fictional. The Blonde book is just making me think how weak she was as a person, even though we know she changed. I still have a lot more to read, it's just crazy how some things are still the same in Hollywood and how women have changed too. I'm sad Bettie Paige died!

    Orthodox Church award for Muslim cleric

    A Muslim cleric has been awarded a medal from the Russian Orthodox Church for the first time in its history. Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin was recognised for his work in strengthening ties between the two faiths.

    The Daniil Moskovskii medal is awarded to people who have helped revive religious life among Russians.

    Tadzhuddin, who has been described as "the first Muslim of Russia", heads the official association of Russian Muslims.

    Being the supreme Mufti of Russia, he is known to have a close relationship with the Russian Orthodox Church. He played an active role in the Chechnya conflict settlement.

    Being a pacifist, the Mufti has tried to distance Islam from extremist and radical ideologies which are often associated with terrorism.

    "The majority of Russian Muslims don't share the ideas of religious groups that are associated with international terrorism," he said. "We are taught to live in peace with our neighbours and to respect those around us."
