I LOVE BOOKS! I always have and I always will. I'm a bestselling mystery/suspense author and an avid reader of a wide range of genres and authors. I once read 62 books in 6 weeks. Ok, I was judging for a book contest, but still... I was prescribed glasses 5 days afterward! :)
As a child I was known to have my light on until the wee hours--or until my mother or father yelled at me. Thank God for flashlights! Along with reading anything I could get my hands on, I was also a journalist (paid!) at about 14 years old. My weekly column was on the happenings in the small town I lived in at the time. Ok, I'll admit I wrote mostly about bowling scores and birthdays...but, hey...I was a journalist! lol
I've had the honor and pleasure of meeting some wonderful authors along my journey--Molly Ann Warring, Sue Paulson, Thomas Trofimuk, Jeff Buick, Jerry D. Simmons, Brian Jud, Dan Poynter, Penny Sansevieri. I have established some great internet friendships with some New York Times bestselling authors as well, and I truly value their friendhsip. My author idols are: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, James Patterson, Luanne Rice, Lisa See, Nora Roberts, Lisa Gardner, Stephen J. Cannell, Lisa Jackson...ok, the list goes on a while! :)
One of my goals is to help other authors and aspiring authors, especially young ones. I always want to remember my roots and how I got started.
***************************************************** Since we're here to share our favorite books, I have to share my own:
My most recent novel Whale Song was released in April 2007. It was an Amazon bestseller in Canada and the US. A heartwrenching but uplifting read, and an emotional mystery that explores the controversial issue of assisted suicide. Booklist called Whale Song “moving…perennially crowd-pleasing…sweet and sad”. This novel is currently out of print.
"Whale Song is deep and true, a compelling story of love and family and the mysteries of the human heart. Cheryl Kaye Tardif has written a beautiful, haunting novel." -- NY Times Bestselling novelist Luanne Rice, author of Beach Girls and What Matters Most

If you prefer an action-packed techno-thriller, please check out The River. Like Mission Impossible, with a female lead! It is a thought provoking and terrifying bestseller, based loosely on legends about the Nahanni River area of Canada’s Northwest Territories, legends of headless corpses washing up on its shores. A “mile-a-minute pot-boiler myster[y]”, says the Edmonton Sun.

If you prefer a “sizzling psychic suspense”, you may want to check out Divine Intervention. Think CSI meets Medium meets Ghost Whisperer! It's a bestselling 'psi-fi' suspense thriller that has been compared to works by authors such as Iris Johansen, Kay Hooper and Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb.

I have had some unique opportunities cross my path in the past and now as an author. I was once a background actor for the hit TV shows 'The Commish' and 'The Heights'. I loved it! More recently, in 2006, I participated in a hilarious new TV series ‘A Total Write-Off’, hosted by comedian Barbara North, which aired in early 2007. That's my 'Academi Award' winning performance...hahaha
I have completed my fourth novel, Children of the Fog, a terrifying suspense that asks, "how far are you willing to go for your child?” It is currently in the hands of a leading New York literary agent. I've also completed Divine Justice, the second in the Divine mystery series, and it's also in the hands of my agent.
Writing is my passion!
