I started off on novels at about 11 on a diet of terrible books including the Goosebumps series, some other miscellaneous teen horror and Virginia Andrews, including the V.C. Andrews books which were not even written by the woman herself! I progressed through (nearly) the entire Anne Rice vampires series and a few John Saul books in my early... more »

Hi ! It takes me ages to navigate these sites am I 'm really happy that your group is so active ! Last time I checked there were only a few people it's growing and growing and I'm really interested by the Dicken's question he gets my vote . Nearly all of his books contain an element of injustice and the really vile , nasy characters who are usually based on real life people tend to be viciously parodied . I think considering the era he was writing in it was very rebel rebel to write like he did . He wrote what he saw and he saw it all corruption, greed , poverty and a crumbling society.

Hai, Between two readers of this medium we can refer to it as comics, excepting the original GNs, for we know what we are talking about. The term graphic novels is for those who may otherwise think we are reading funny books! Do fill up your shelf. Have a great time and trip!

I'll put it on my 'to read' pile.
Concerning Dawkins, I've read a lot of it as I'm a biologist and evolutionary theory enthusiast, and I think he has/had an important role as a popular science author on the theme. Although I prefer he talking about science, and shutting his mouth up about religion...
