I'm from the Isle of Wight, a mere shop assistant! ;) The main loves in my life are my family my books my best friend and my hamster. Not necessarily in that order!
I've come to the conclusion that I must be a 1950's throwback. I don't like a lot of modern music, prefering anything from the 1920's through to 1980's along with classical music but not much beyond that. I'm passionate about the Golden age of Hollywood, and love to read biographies about actors and actresses from that period, for example Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland and Doris Day. I also adore Hayley Mills' films. It's the simple things that put a smile on my face and a warm glow in my heart, and tales of bygone eras seem to fulfill that need in me.
I seem to surprise people with my tastes, for some reason I don't "seem the type" to a lot of people I meet, although I'm not entirely sure what they mean by that. The phrase "never judge a book by it's cover" seems to be apt at this point. I see myself as a book that needs a lot of re-reading to discover everything I've got to give. « less
