Hello, my name is Jessie Cox. About ten years ago, I wrote a novel, then set it aside. Recently with more time on my hands, I dug it out, dusted it off and polished it up. It's is available on both Amazon.com and Createspace. The title is The Infant Carrier. It is available both in paper back and ebook.
That felt so good, rather like scratching a long time itch, I wrote and published the second novel in the series, titled The House in Banes Meadow. It is currently available in paper back, but soon will be available in ebook, as well.
The itch continued (I might have fleas) and I'm near completion of the third novel in the series, titled Cheechako
A voice in the back of the room, yells "What are they about, yuh knothead!"
Oh. Yeah.
These books are a police fiction set in contemporary Oklahoma, but even more, they are about the Native American culture and spirituality in a modern day world. In the genre of Tony Hillerman, with an extra touch of spirituality and humor, these stories are about the people, the crime and the humanity of a small community.
The Infant Carrier, is a collection of woven short stories, that not only introduces the characters, but gives insight to their personalities.
The House in Banes Meadow is a novel, loosely centered on an actual Cherokee vampire legend.
Cheechako (Inuit for "Newcomer") shifts scenes between Oklahoma and Alaska. It contains Native American cultural scenes from both areas.
"How do you know of these things?" the voice yells.
Because I'm a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, have been in law enforcement and lived in Alaska, working in remote native villages.
