But his shaky hand (his motor skills were damaged with his brain from "the cure") touches her cheek and she almost pukes in his face. When in Diego, Tally gets a ping from Shay to go to a room in the hospital where she finds Zane's body. He is in a vegetative state, and his body rejected the cure for his brain damage. He would never be the same even if he woke up. Tally realizes he did it so she would accept him. The hospital needs the extra hospital equipment so Tally gives consent for him to be taken off of life support. She says her goodbyes then leaves.
