   Thresh: One of the tributes from District 11, Thresh is enormously strong and independent and appears to be one of the biggest challenges for Katniss. When they finally come face to face in the games it becomes clear how much they have in common. They share, in particular, a strong sense of honor, tremendous survival skills, and an understanding of the natural world. Thresh cares a lot for Rue, and ends up sparing Katniss at the feast as repayment for her looking our for Rue and avenging her death in the games. Thresh makes it to the final four in the hunger games before he is killed by Cato.
