   Tanthalas Kanan or Tanis Half-elven: The main character from the first trilogy, Tanis is a hero of the Lance. He was the leader of the Companions, the small unlikely group of hero's who unwittingly found themselves at the heart of the war. He leads us into the first book of the Legends trilogy, helps bridge the two series, and shows us the passage of time written in his own features. He takes up a supporting role and finds himself again beholden to Kitiara, though he is not the same besotted young man he was when last they met.
