    sookie is the main charater in this book. sookie has a telepathic skill, with this skill she can read minds of others. but the minds she cant read are vampires. the first vamp she met was Bill, when she met bill she tryed to read his mind but wasnt able to. now being with bill she has met more vampires and also the most important vamp in the town or area that she lives in and his name is eric. eric is the leader of the area that sookie lives in. eric can "rent" her out to use her ablity on the humans. at first sookie didnt want to be "rented out", but then bill reminded her that she had agreeded to help the vampires in any way she could.
