   Nekane Springfield: Nekane is Negi's cousin. But due to their closeness, Negi calls Nekane Onēsan. Nekane took on a maternal role during Negi's childhood, even sharing a bed with him. Asuna bears some physical resemblance to Nekane, which is why Negi sometimes sleeps beside her, much to her (Asuna's) dismay. She keeps in touch with Negi through magic letters. Role in Tankōbon 1: asks the headmaster to change Negi's assignment and faints when he says he can't; waves Negi off the train which presumably takes him to the airport which takes him to Japan; Negi thinks of her often and remembers her saying ‘Be nice to girls.’; More at: http://negima.wikia.com/wiki/Nekane_Springfield
