Meyer Wolfsheim: This is the name F. Scott Fitzgerald gave to the major bootlegger in his novel the Great Gatsby. Some say it was modeled on Arnold Rothstein and others on Larry Fay or Owney Madden. Ch. 4 gives information on all three actual bootleggers in NYC during Prohibition.
