  1. Watership Down: Book 1

    Watership Down

    by Richard Adams

Fiver: A small buck, a runt and outsider of Sandleford Warren, Fiver is plagued by horrific visions of the future which are mostly proved to be true. His name in Lapine is "Hrairoo", meaning "small-five" or little thousand; because he was the smallest of a litter of 5 or more kittens ("hrair" means 5 or more, since rabbits can only count to 4). Fiver's brother Hazel believes his visions of danger, and organizes an exodus of rabbits away from the warren. A troubled rabbit, Fiver's visions save the traveling group again, and his vision is passed onto one of his kittens in the end. It was also Fiver who envisaged with clarity the safety and location of Watership Down. In many ways, he is the saviour of the rabbits of Watership Down at the expense of being plagued by visions. Several other rabbits in the story appear to have similar abilities.

  2. Struts & Frets
