   Eddie Russett: A young man with a strong ability to see in red. He wishes to rise in society but discovers there's more to society than meets the eye. Engaged to be married to Violet as Jane (who he wanted to marry) turns out to be a complementary Green and so they can't marry, though somebody might have tempered with Jane's Ishihara (colour perception test) in order to drive her and Eddie apart. Plans to make East Carmine full-colour through the production of sporks.
