   Carolyn Connors: A widowed mother of a teenager (Elizabeth) and a pre-teen (Emily) who has become an alcoholic and a harpy since the death of her husband. Her dependence issues become exacerbated when Rask comes into her life. Besides coming to worship the ground he walks on, she cheerfully accepts the sex, drugs, and hate that comes whispering from his lips. When it comes time to make a decision between him and her children, she makes the wrong choice.
