Born in the Right Fore mark, his mother was a captive from Nutley Copse who mated with an Efrafan officer and had no other mate. Proud of his father, he was cast out from the Owsla due to his maternal upbringing. He encouraged Hyzenthlay to start a new warren, an expedition of does which he was to lead. After being tortured and mutilated, he escapes with Bigwig from Efrafa to join Watership Down. A surprsingly strong and helpful character arises from this character that initially seems so weak.
