Thanks for the tip off on Ben Larken - I've added Pit Stop to my wish list and will do the same for The Hollows when it appears here. Sounds very interesting.

Looks like you've got some great stuff going on - good luck with it all! Will check out your site soon.

    Greetings Shelfari friend!

How are things with you? How are the e-books going?

    Read anything good recently?

I'm now on my 89th book so far this year!

    Hope all is well...

Anything that helps encourage more reading can only be a good thing. I'm reserving judgement until I can try one out, but it will certainly help from a storage point of view. I don't have room for all the books I get through in a year. Just got sent 2 hardbacks today. All my bookshelves are full already, as soon as things get read they go up in the loft in a box.

So if it helps with that then it will be a winner for me!

It's certainly looking that way. Interestingly I've just been to a meeting where we've been talking about eBook readers and converting some of our documentation to eBook format for people to use on the go. It's certainly an idea that seems to be about to have its moment. I'm hoping to trial one for a few weeks at some point soon.

Plenty of interest in eBooks right now, so sounds like a sound plan. It's always fun to read books that very few people other than the author have read.

Wow, good luck with the publishing business! Hope it all goes well and you find that hit that allows you to take a risk on another title.

Hey Charlotte! Haven't been on Shelfari in a while. Been finishing up the next novel. Just sent it off to the publisher last week (Yay!), so I'm catching up with everybody. What have you been up to? Any new writing? I hope everything's going well for you. Write me sometime and give me an update.

Happy 2009! How's it going so far?

I've just finished Death du Jour by Kathy Reichs, Hold Tight by Harlan Coben and The Innocent also by Coben.

Currently reading An Innocent Client by Scott Pratt.

I'm definitely going to have to read some of your work. It sounds like a wide variety, which I like. You must have a pretty steady writing routine, which I always aspire to--but with three kids and a full-time job writing always seems to end up on the backburner. I'm about 100 pages into my next one right now and I'm determined to finish a first draft by the end of the year.

And yes, dispatching leads to some fun story ideas. I do a good bit of 911 calltaking, too, and there is never a lack of crazy people to talk to. Some of them we know on a first name basis. At least once a week I get a call from a kind-sounding old lady who wants to report what Charles is up to. Charles is Chuck Norris, and I don't think she understands that Walker, Texas Ranger is fiction.
