hey dude. here we are in september. your profile pic reminds me of the shining. how's it feel to be on the other side? m.
Write me another note. Waste time. I hate packing, so another long night.Meg
Thanks Chad. I hope you're switching will inspire others to make the jump.Yours most truly,Pandy
Chad! I started a new group and am going to close out fc2 because I wanted to include more titles than the ones just offered by that press, though they seem to have many interesting ones. The new group is fiction effect. Join soon because fc2 will soon be no more.Be seeing you really soon.Meg
I thought I should explain a little bit about what I'm doing with FC2. I'm trying to find experimental literature, but skirt some, um, gratuitous stuff, but it's a challenge. I'm sure there'll be books I won't read, even though I'm the moderator. and time will be more limited soon! Would still love to have you.
The Optimist's Daughter is my favorite Welty story/novel!! Did you enjoy it? Also laughed hard and out loud at Why I Live at the P.O.--do you know that one? We lived in Jackson, MS for six years, right down the street from Ms. Welty--my husband saw her in the Piggly Wiggly (the local market--great name, huh?). Did you know she was a photographer? Did some wonderful sort of Dorothea Lang (Lange?)/WPA type photographs.
Hey Chad! Your addition of J.F. Powers reminds me I need to put it on my shelf too. I liked his stories. Hope you are well.
Nice to see someone else likes Li Po. I really love his work. Who's your favorite Chinese poetry translator--if you have one.. I really like Kenneth Rexroth. There was one guy who actually tried to make it rhyme!! Note--I read other things, just was happy to see Li Po on someone else's site....there's probably a Chinese poetry group on Shelfari...gonna go off and look now....
hey there stud. how'd final submissions come off?
Aww, I loved Life of Pi!
That was a great walk! I'm kind of excited to take other people there next year and make it some kind of tradition. Yeah... TWHF is incredible. It's funny that you haven't annotated it yet (or... maybe not funny to you).
Hey Chad, I'm glad we're friends here on Shelfari and in person, soon again, in NM. Lots of good books on your shelf. Gee, why do so many look familiar? :) --Nancy
Chad! I know I'm going to love raiding your shelf. I remember cool books we've talked about, and you being a philosophical guy and me being a philosophical wannabe - it works out well. I hope you are well. Missing you.Pandora
