I am so happy that you are going to read 'The Last waltz'. I am sure that you will enjoy it. it has so much in it that you can pick up almost any chapter and there will be some new insight of life, the personal and the pollitically, in that period. All in all, life is so much better now, especially for women. ( I think).
I have a question......when are you finding time to read with all you are currently doing???? Miss you.
Hiya my lovely grandaughter. I like what you wrote. I can't imagine life without books. I too have learned a lot from historical novels, I also devour books about what life was like, especially for women, befor, during and just after the second world war.i do love old book and I am lucky to be able to buy books for £1.00 or under from different outlets. My dream? it is to open a bookshop in Malta, collecting hundreds of books from England and transporting them overland. There does't seem to be bokshops there that sell secondhand books. In the meantime I will carry on loosing myself in tone of the most wonderful and fulfiling activity that enriches us. Bless you
Every time we talk I find more that you and I agree on.....I just finished your profile and you have said it all so well.....I too can hardly remember a time when I couldn't read. Since you are collecting children's stories don't overlook....Silver Skates, Elsie Dinsmore and In the lLooking Glass.....Carroll's annotated edition in paper back is the best and you know of course that the story was really written for adults? Talk soon.
Hey Hi, Its nice to see someone with interests similar to mine.. currently I am reading 'The Host' by S.M. Have u read it?
Yes it is a shame. His works are classic fantasy type. All we can do is spread the word. :)
