Oh i never replied. How was your christmas? i wonder how similar Portuguese Christmas is to English Christmas... Yeah I've heard of the Algarve. People here do go there quite a lot but i've never met anyone who bothers to learn any Portuguese. Us English are lazy!Thanks for offering to help by the way. I don't really read Portuguese but i try (I need my trusted dictionary as a companion). I've only ever read one book in Portuguese but my final year's work is mostly Portuguese, so i'm trying to improve. I've a long way to go!! Hopefully i'll enjoy the book when i finally have time to read it!! By the way, just wondering, what would you say are the nicest parts of Portugal you've been to? I've never been but i've been close in Northern Spain. I'd quite like to go to Lisboa or Porto one day!
Ah i have heard of José Saramago. OK well i'll give Death with Interruptions a try if i can find it. I read a bit about it and what you say sounds right. He doesn't use normal punctuation and so it's an odd style of writing. It sounds a bit like a Peruvian writer i read. By the way your English is fantastic! I am very jealous.
Ah sorry, I should have been clearer. I read a Brazilian book called Dom Casmurro, but I'd like to read something good from Portugal. I can read Portuguese quite well but I can't write so good!!!! I really need to practice! Can you recommend anything from your home country? Charlie.
