    I saw the plots of some of Joyce Maynard's books but they didn't appeal to me like this one. Sometimes if I like an author I'll go back and read others but not this time.

    I totally agree w/you on too many characters in The Red Thread especially the adoptees in China. I could have done w/out that to be honest w/you.

    I wish I could edit my last message but since I can't, I just noticed that you read Family Album by Penelope Lively and liked it. Usually don't read british authors and it got bad reviews in the Washington Post, but still have it on my list to be read since it looks good.
