The start of a second generation of strong female characters in Tortall. Leans more toward adventure/spy novel than fantasy, but still a fantasy.

For Gothic in Literature and Film course. I found this a reasonably enjoyable, quick read. I don't think of it as very horror inducing, but it does give a lot for discussion.

For Adolescents' Literature course. A novel in poems. I think I just prefer the flow of prose over that of poetry.

For Adolescents' Literature course. A fun read, I'll probably look into the rest of the series at some point.

A useful read - probably more so for those already working in a library. This book talks about the scenario creating process, as well as listing several basic scenarios for both academic and public libraries. An excellent starting point for discussion about the future of a given library.

Read for Adolescents' Literature course. I didn't like the main character....or his family.... or his friends... But I'm not sure I was supposed to like them. Certainly interesting to think about and discuss.

I loved this. Old characters, new characters, badassery abounding. SO GOOD.

This was a fantastic read. It was funny; the plot was intriguing; the characters seemed entirely different from any I'd met before.

Read for The Gothic in Literature and Film course. This book read fairly easily and kept a steady pace. I think it built very well, both in plot and in Eleanor's mental state. Mrs. Montague was perfectly hateable.
