His art is featured on many of her publications. No biggie, I miss notes sometimes too - especially if a lot of people post at the same time. If you like all that is lovely and whimsical with a bit of melancholy you may also like Kate Morton's The Forgotten Garden. I just finished it and it was most excellent.

Thank you for the friendship and I'm so glad you're enjoying my books. :o)

John William Waterhouse is one of my most favorite of painters. Based on your profile and your avatar, you may like reading Rosalind Miles Guenevere trilogy. I'm reading the first: Guenever, Queen of the Summer Country right now. The publisher used Waterhouse paintings on the front covers of the books. :-)

Hi Cathie - nice to find you in CyberSpace again! :-) So sorry for the delay in responding to your friend request -- I haven't been on Shelfari in awhile. On a different topic, I see a Linda Howard book on your shelf that I haven't read before. Is SON OF THE MORNING a new one?

Of course I'd simply LOVE to chat with you... books, books, and more books! And actuallly, I have got a recommendation for you! Have you ever heard of C.L. Wilson? Tairen Soul? Well, if you haven't... you should read Tairen Soul by C.L. Wilson! It's possibly the BEST series I have ever read (still waiting for the end, so I can't say that for certain yet... though I am very confident that it will be, without a doubt)! Order of the series: Lord of the Fading Lands, Ladys of Light and Shadows, King of Sword and Sky, Queen of Song and Souls, and Tairen Soul. The fourth book will be out October 27, 2009 with Tairen Soul scheduled for sometime in 2010 (already written though, good news). I'd be happy to blabber on and on about it (man, would I love to! haha) but I'll behave... ;)

As for your little tidbit... you've read Lucan? Did you get an ARC or something? Cause I don't remember it being out yet.. *shrug* Can't exactly remember how it got onto my bookshelf (I tend to stalk other peoples' shelves in order to find more books to read) but I do remember that it seemed very interesting. Judging by the fact that you have it as a favorite, I would guess that you did enjoy it? For Jodi Thomas I've just recently stumbled across her... read Texas Rain which I did enjoy, but luckily most reviews agree that it was one of her worst books so I'm certainly on planning on reading more of her.

And Mary Connealy... well, there's something about her books that I really do enjoy. On one hand, she's got a very different writing style... dont' get me wrong, I enjoyed it though it took some time to get used to. The romance isn't the "sizzle" that's popular these days, but very cute and engaging in its own way. Most of all, I love the life lessons that she expresses throughout the books -- I still remember the last book I read, where she used the comparison of the Devil causing all the worries for the heroine when she went to bed. All those small things that continue to harp on your mind when you attempt to fall asleep... that simply smacked me upside the head, wonderful!
