    Hey Cathie - how's life?

I see you have Carolina Valdez on your shelf so I wanted to invite you to a Cyber Launch Party (www.CyberLaunchParty.blogspot.com) today to celebrate Carolina Valdez's new Amber Quill Allure release SOMEBODY TO LOVE

Their relationship begins with two serious problems...

Kevin Connolly, star of The Detective and named TV’s “Sexiest Man of the Year,” works in Hollywood with frequent filming trips to various locations. Nate Marquette, Kevin’s new love, works part of the year as a fireman in a mountain range not far from Los Angeles, but most of the year he operates his business as a helicopter logger in the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Complicating the logistics of getting together when they’re miles apart is the fact that it’s vital both men keep their sexual preferences secret. Exposure as a gay man might certainly ruin Kevin’s career, but it could also mean death for Nate.

Yet in the end, it’s not these challenges that threaten to tear them apart, but deeper issues of trust and betrayal...

Hi Cathie - nice to find you in CyberSpace again! :-) So sorry for the delay in responding to your friend request -- I haven't been on Shelfari in awhile. On a different topic, I see a Linda Howard book on your shelf that I haven't read before. Is SON OF THE MORNING a new one?

Of course I'd simply LOVE to chat with you... books, books, and more books! And actuallly, I have got a recommendation for you! Have you ever heard of C.L. Wilson? Tairen Soul? Well, if you haven't... you should read Tairen Soul by C.L. Wilson! It's possibly the BEST series I have ever read (still waiting for the end, so I can't say that for certain yet... though I am very confident that it will be, without a doubt)! Order of the series: Lord of the Fading Lands, Ladys of Light and Shadows, King of Sword and Sky, Queen of Song and Souls, and Tairen Soul. The fourth book will be out October 27, 2009 with Tairen Soul scheduled for sometime in 2010 (already written though, good news). I'd be happy to blabber on and on about it (man, would I love to! haha) but I'll behave... ;)

As for your little tidbit... you've read Lucan? Did you get an ARC or something? Cause I don't remember it being out yet.. *shrug* Can't exactly remember how it got onto my bookshelf (I tend to stalk other peoples' shelves in order to find more books to read) but I do remember that it seemed very interesting. Judging by the fact that you have it as a favorite, I would guess that you did enjoy it? For Jodi Thomas I've just recently stumbled across her... read Texas Rain which I did enjoy, but luckily most reviews agree that it was one of her worst books so I'm certainly on planning on reading more of her.

And Mary Connealy... well, there's something about her books that I really do enjoy. On one hand, she's got a very different writing style... dont' get me wrong, I enjoyed it though it took some time to get used to. The romance isn't the "sizzle" that's popular these days, but very cute and engaging in its own way. Most of all, I love the life lessons that she expresses throughout the books -- I still remember the last book I read, where she used the comparison of the Devil causing all the worries for the heroine when she went to bed. All those small things that continue to harp on your mind when you attempt to fall asleep... that simply smacked me upside the head, wonderful!

Hi, Cathie--thanks for accepting my invitaiton. I have no idea what I'm doing on here. Others have hundreds of friends, and so far, I've managed 17. Oh, well, I prefer quality over quantity. Looking at the books you read, you might like Lisa Hendrix's Immortal Warrior and Immortal Outlaw. Two in a series of three. Kensington paperbacks--find in book stores or order from Amazon. I only know her through an on-line Yahoo loop, the one where I'm co-owner: The Book Spa. She sent me an ARC of one and I bought the other. they're not my usual reading material, but still, I enjoyed them. I doubt you'd like mine, but just in case-ALL MY HOPES AND DREAMS-A Western Historical Romance--The Wild Rose Press. Later! Celia
