Hello Catherine, Dracula: Hearts of Stone (Dracula is a good guy)We start with a shiny new pot of boiling water and add too many evil vampires, and not enough of the good biters. Toss in one suicidal Dracula; add a cup of mayhem and a dash of romance. Oh yes, and a pinch of mirth. Stir lovingly and you have a novel by A. J. Gallant. If it sounds like the recipe for you then you must read Dracula: Hearts of Stone. Please check out my author page for excerpts: http://www.independentauthornetwork.com/a-j-gallant.html Unrealistic or not my writing gives me hope. But with something like 50 000 books published a month it is a little discouraging. I can just picture my book underneath that pile being crushed. I didn’t think there were that many writers. Must be a factory out there producing them like peanut butter cookies.
Yeah, I actually grew up in Saskatchewan, but also went to UofC, right out of high school, in 1990 (so I probably just missed you! ;-) ). I've been here since, except for 2 school years where I went to UofA for my library degree. To be honest, Calgary's actually gotten too big for me, but I also HATE moving and I HATE job hunting, too, so I don't really see myself going anywhere for a while, anyway.
Hi, Catherine! I'm from the Canada group and just wanted to stop by to welcome you to the group. It's not a terribly active group, but it tends to comes in spurts. There is a Welcome and Introductions thread if you'd like to introduce yourself there. We also have a review thread if you read anything by a Canadian author. Of course, feel free to contribute to the other threads as well! Enjoy! :-)
Welcome to the “Who Doesn’t Love a Classic?” Group! We’re a very active group so I hope you enjoy it here. Feel free to take your time and browse around. We have group reads that take place every two months, a discussion thread where people post great reviews (post yours too!) and lots of other interesting conversations taking place all the time. …And don’t forget to introduce yourself in the Introductions thread! -Llevinso
