I liked BIG STONE GAP. I'm on the hunt now for the follow-up, BIG CHERRY HOLLER.
So far, though, when it comes to warm, folksy small town books, I haven't found anyone I like better than Curtiss Ann Matlock. Her books just make me curl my toes. Her characters face real challenges, but there's always the sense that somehow the universe will unfold as it should. :)
I agree with you -- Alison Brennan is an amazing writer. I did see a couple of the plot twists coming....
Haven't read THE HUNT yet. I'm going to learn to start taking advantage of the to-be-read lists on this site!
Right now I'm reading Liz Fielding's August book, REUNITED: MARRIAGE IN A MILLION. I think she's a really amazing writer, too.
What are you reading now?
I see you have some of the same books on your shelf that I do. Loved Hired by the Cowboy and Claiming the Cattleman's heart. I'm a romance writer too. I write sweet romances, but I'm thinking about trying my hand at the desire line. I just finished a great book in that series. Rossellini's Revenge Affair. I loved it.
