Dear Carmarie: I am an author from Massachusetts. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING was published in April. If you enjoy reading a good thriller like DA VINCI CODE, you might like HUNTING. The novel revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother die in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother’s death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Now an archaeologist, she has been recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to discover whatever or whoever is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As an observant Catholic, she is scared that whatever she finds will have devastating consequences for her faith. There is a wonderful YouTube book trailer well worth watching if you have the chance. Hi Carmarie! Welcome to Play Book Tag! Sorry this message is a little late in coming, I have been away from the internet for a few days and it made me realize how dependent I am on it. :) By now, you have probably browsed around PBT a little but I wanted to let you know about the 2 main things we currently have going on.The main thing we have is the monthly tag which for July is fairy tales. When you read a book tagged fairy tale or even just read a book you think qualifies (we're not too picky) post it on the thread July tag: collective reads for our shelf. This is a great way to see what others are reading and spur some discussion about the ones you have finished!The second large activitiy we have going on from July 1 to August 31 is Tag it to the max. This is a competitive game in which Anita (the administrator) assigns you a random starting tag from the top 200 Shelfari tags and you read one book per tag in consecutive order. You would be getting a bit of a late start but if you're interested in playing you can look up rules by searching the PBT discussions for Rules for tag it to the max and you can sign up on the thread Sign up for tag it to the max. There are plenty of people who are playing just to participate without the drive (or time) to win..I would be one of those people! lolWOW! You have put some srerious work into your shelf considering you just joined Shelfari yesterday! I am impressed. I see that you have read Oryx and Crake. You only gave it 3 *'s but if you are interested in trying something else by Atwood, I am currently reading The Handmaid's Tale and it is pretty good. You have read a couple of the books I plan on reading: Time Traveler's Wife, Thirteeth Tale, and Snow Flower...any recommendations on which one to pick up first?
