Love the Garfield cat picture. Genius.
Hi Carey!I see you read Haruki Murakami's WIND-UP BIRD CHRONICLES. Whatcha think? I think it's his best, and I've been reading nothing buy Murakami of late (I even read the OTHER Murakami - Ryu!). I also really liked NORWEGIAN WOOD and KAFKA ON THE SHORE. There's a good book ABOUT Murakami called HARUKI MURAKAMI AND THE MUSIC OF WORDS written by his translator Jay Rubin that explains a lot. read A WILD SHEEP CHASE, but didn't like that as much, though it explores turf he would expand upon later in WIND-UP BIRD. Earlt work, shows influence of Raymond Chandler (some call it THE BIG SHEEP), but not nearly as detailed or complex as later works. Looks like you're reading some cool stuff. You still going to Daedalus Books? (Ofcourse you are, as am I!).later!- Tom
Hey Carey -Thanks for turning me on to Shelfari! That's funny you looked up CODEX - I didn't think to add that to my shelf, even though I just blogged about it: http://accelerateddecrepitude.blogspot.com/2007/07/decoding-codex.htmlDid I tell you I saw a dance/ballet version of CODEX at the Kennedy Center 3 years ago? TRICODEX by Phillpe Decoule or something (sp?). It was awesome. My artist friend just checked CODEX out of the Pratt - I told her how valuable it was and to take care of it. She was going to try to piant images inspired by it.Hope you're staying cool in this HOT and HUMID Bawmer Summer.- Tom
