    Hi, Capricorn,

I see that you were an English major at some time in your life.

    Hi,

Thanks for the add! I hear Edward Gorey was from Chicago, before he moved out east. He was a great artist/writer. Without his example, the Lemony Snicket guy & Tim Burton would be very different...

Do you go to any poetry readings or other stuff here in Chicago? We're getting ready for Chicago Calling (www.chicagocalling.org).

    Cheers,

    Dan

Hey!!! Thanks for the reading ideas! As for you..I would read Shardik by Richard Adams, if you loved Watership Down you'll love this book. Also read Pan another classic bu Knut Hamsun and for fun try a Stephen King Novel, maybe the Eyes of the Dragon. All good reads....

How is it that I never even heard of Pessoa? "The Book of Disquiet": the title alone qualifies it to join my stack of one-of-these-days books.
This summer, when my semester of all-non-fiction-all-the-time ends, I'll read it. And you? You have a few wish list books that are on my all-time favorite list: Brother's Karamazov, Hunger, and nearly anything by Beckett (though I'd be happy to make a specific recommendation).

Lots of books in common. If you liked the Richard Powers on your shelf, you might try Galatea 2.2. I think it's his best

ah, but we HAVE to add books - we just need to pick new books that we know the other would never read. ;-)

Thanks for the add! We have some of the same tastes, especially with some of the books about writing per se.

Hey there! I noticed on an older post that you were reading Blindness. Did you finish it? I read that in college for an Literature Interpretation theater class. I had to act out a part of the book for that class. I loved the book and the performance! I will never forget that book. Hope you liked it. Miss and love ya!
