Hi, I just finished reading Loving Frank. I think I liked it so much because it is based on facts. I looked up Frank Lloyd Wright's biography on line before I finished the book and unfortunately found out how the book ended. I think the author was fair in the way she portrayed the two main characters...they each had their flaws.

No One You Know is my favorite book this year. It haunted me, still does. I wrote a review about it on my blog: http://katrinastonoff.wordpress.com/2008/06/22/book-review-no-one-you-know/

I don't know anything about Frank Lloyd Wright's life (which is sad because I grew up in Tempe, home of Grady Gammage, which he designed), but I saw from your review that he must have had a fascinating life. I'll definitely have to read this one.

I'm new on Shelfari (my sister recommended it), so I don't really know how to get around and/or leave notes etc. But I did manage to find your blog, which looks wonderful. I'll have to add it to my Bloglines.

I know exactly where McMinnville is. In fact, I think I used to go there twice a month for organ lessons. Isn't that near where Nordie's Rack is? And a great auction house I keep meaning to go to. I make it to the Portland area now and then. We could do lunch -- or meet in a bookstore. :-) I'm 47 and married also.

OK, one more comment. I just picked up Loving Frank at the bookstore yesterday, but I didn't buy it. Given your glowing recommendation, I think I'll go back for it.

Oh, my gosh, you SO sound like somebody I should get to know! And your bookshelf is fascinating. There's a bunch of books here that look fabulous, that I've never heard of. (Note to self: find more time for reading.)

Where do you live in the PNW? I'm about halfway between Portland and Seattle. My e-mail address is katrina (at) stonoff (dot) com.

    Hi there!
Happy Mother's Day !! Hope is all well with you. I saw you're reading "Sybil", I loved it so much, quite a disturbing read but a really page-whizzling. Is interesting "the poet and the murderer"?
I only wanted to wish you a great splendid day with your family.
    Take care,
    Elisabeth

How do you like Three Cups of Tea? Mortenson is amazing with all that he has been able to accomplish.

Loved People of the Book. If you haven't already, go back and read March and Year of Wonders. On your recommendations, I've bought today prmose not to tee, Mermaids in the Basement and The vanishing Act of Esme Lennox (actually waiting for the paperback so I don't have to lug it around.) Looking over you The Girl Who Stopped Swimming somehow reminded my of White Girl Ghosts by Alice Greenway. Great, haunting story

Hi Shutterbug. April Witch is a good book, but if you want to read a really good book I would start with Shadow of the Wind, The Poison wood Bible or The Joy Luck Club. I think you would like those. Keep on reading! Greetings, Monique

Thanks for accepting my friendship. It is so nice to meet you too. I grew up in Starkville, I am originally from Hot Springs, AR. I met my husband about 10 years ago and we spent the better part of that traveling with his job. He is from Birmingham and that is where we have settled. I hope to never move out of the state. I still like to travel though and I am really in to photography. I went to your website, it was great. I have added it to my favorites. I look forward to discussing books and other things with you in the future. BTW the pic on your blog today from Ecola State Park is beautiful. That was the best part of our trip to Cannon Beach (well the clam chowder too). Take care.

I love your picture for your page. I too have a passion for such photos. The one that is on my page is one I shot. I also grew up in MS. I have traveled to the PNW, Cannon Beach, OR to be specific and I loved it. I live in AL now and probably always will. Seems we have a few things in common. I have requested your friendship.
