Hello. Saw your bookshelf: I was intrigued by the iferent issues they're concerned with. On Muhammad there is also a classical book you may be interested in reading: it's the book by maxim rodinson. He was a french communist of jewish origin and highly cultivated man. Despite being an atheist and of jewish origin he was very interested in islam and is regarded as a true specialist. The image he portrays of Muhammad and Islam is quite positive. His interpretation is obviously non-religious but you wont find in his writting any of that usual "ethnocentrism" nor any cliché. :)
