I'm a mother of a three year old girl. I'm a home health caregiver and elderly companion. I live in Vancouver, Wa right over the bridge from Portland, OR. My favorite bookstore is Powells and can spend all day there. My daughter also loves books so we spend a good portion of the day reading. I have listed on my shelves books I've read, own,...more »

Hey Candace- just wanted to say hello. I saw your positive comments on "The Gargoyle" on the Bibliophiles group. I liked it very much as well. I would kill to have a giant indie bookstore like Powell's near me. I'll have to settle for Books-A-Million. I am reading a book called "Hospital" set at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn- pretty interesting. How are you? What are you reading? Talk to you soon. Jason

I'm glad you liked Faefever. What do you think of the forums? O.o Wow, I get overwhelmed. Did you read Karen's blog? A reader said she'd never read another book by her because she condoned rape. Ridiculous.

Lyme is very prevalent around here. I was diagnosed with it but before they understood what it was they thought I had multiple sclerosis. My brother and father had and it effected their heart. My brother was very ill in January with pericarditis, fluid around the heart. Both of them are doing well. All three of us had to go into the city for treatment. Because I had neurological symptoms that didn't respond to meds by mouth I had to administer my own IV antibiotics once a day for 3 weeks. The med was premixed and I just hooded it up to my picc line and it slowly infused.

Lyme can be pretty bizarre, it does different things to different people. It didn't seem to bother my heart at all and it didn't affect my dad's or brothers nervous system.

Hope you feel better. I was up almost all night :(

She was diagnosed a year or two ago with lyme disease and apparently she's had it for a while either misdiagnosed or undiagnosed and it has affected her central nervous system. She recieved treatment and was feeling better but then overdid it and had a bad relapse so she tries very hard to stick to a schedule. In the chat the other day someone asked how her health was and she just said that she was very sick but with friends and family support she is getting better.

Its interesting to hear her explain how the story came to her. She said she had ideas about a character "Mac" but didn't really think much about it but then said it came to her in it's entirety, all the characters and what they were like and exactly what would happen with clear distinctions of where one book ends and the next begins. This paranormal mystery thriller genre is new for her. I'm on book 5 out of her 7 Highlander books and they become very formulaic but the story is interesting and they are a series unto themselves. There are little things in them that I think "HEY! That's important to Fever!" and I have another bit of information that fills the whole thing out. I don't think there is a clue to who Barrons is in the Highlander series but it explains the Tuatha de Danaan. I can't wait to get to where the Queen has a more active role along with Adam the Fae Prince that drives everyone crazy on the boards. Right now I'm on the Dark Highlander but when I'm done with it, I'm taking a bit of break from them. But I always say that and she has some wild ending that makes me crazy and I have to read the next one. Fortunately, I got all of them from paperbackswap.

Do heat packs on your neck help your headaches? I have on that is filled with some kind of seed and I can nuke it and put it around my neck. Right now there's a hole in it because I left it in the microwave too long and it burned! LOL. I hope you feel better.

Faefever is good but the emotions run high on it. Because the author is still writing Dreamfever, maybe it would be best to hold off so you don't have to wait so long. Plus the cliffhanger is a doozie (don't read amazon.com, people on there will tell you exactly what happens and ruin it) It's worth reading but considering she's still writing and won't put it out until she's happy with it (and she is seriously ill) you might want to wait so you don't go crazy like I am...unless you also do what I'm doing, and read the Highlander books as back story.

I saw that! It's so awesome. I wouldn't know what to say either. I was a blubbering fool with Melissa Marr so I know if I met Andrew DAvidson, I wouldn't open my mouth and nothing would come out!

Maybe he can come back after we prepare questions for him.

    Congrats on your appt. YAY!

You have to tell me what you think of Barrons! /sigh...Men in books, I just love 'em!

This is my first ARC! I actually barely remember filling out the email to be considered for it. Besides read it, review it, what am I supposed to do with? Do I just review it on shelfari? I have not a clue! I guess I'll just read it, write on it here and on my blog. Nobody looks at my blog anyway, it's more just fun for me than anything else. Once I do that, maybe I should email the author?
