    I wanted to let you know that my mom's surgery went well and she is recovering quickly. They removed the lump and said it doesn't look cancerous. =)

    I completely understand not wanting to part with an original copy. The book I sent wasn't my original copy either lol.
    Thanks for your good wishes towards my mom. I'm sure she will be fine, it will be good for her to rest for a while, recover and just read. =)

    My mom called me today, totally excited, because she got the book you sent her for that book thing. I wanted to tell you that it meant a lot to her. =) She is going for surgery for a lump in her neck on Wednesday, so it couldn't have been more perfect timing!

    I first read it in 1996 (middle school) and loved it because it resonated with what I was experiencing socially at that time with Creigh and Emma...then I re-read it in 2007 and still loved it, and I think I could definitely read it again. From what I remember, it was just a great storytelling of how girls can treat each other in friendships especially around that beginning adolescent age. I hope you enjoy it! =)

    Hi Cally!
    I just wanted to warmly welcome you to Play Book Tag, the group I administer on Shelfari. I see you are new to Shelfari as well so I hope you are finding it a fun place to be. I've met many amazing readers here, and I'm sure you'll do the same. I see you have The Alchemist on your shelf. I haven't read it yet, and have heard very mixed reviews - - some of my friends LOVED it, and some really didn't, and some didn't understand it. I'm very curious what you think! Also, I'm just about to head off for a one week vacation. I hope that won't discourage you from popping by Play Book Tag and participating in the many discussions going on. When I get back, we'll be picking a new tag for March. Welcome again!!
