Do you know that "cahil" in Arabic means "ignorant". The more we read, the more I feel more ignorant, anyway... You chose the right word! Cheers,
I saw your name in the blind owl members, but what i see here in your shelf is totally different!...how..
Hello! We share the same interests. I would like to be your friend!Don't you mind?!I've found a new Paulo Coelho's Group, please join and discuss about your favorite books:http://www.shelfari.com/groups/11494/about"When you want something, the whole Universe conspires to help you realize your desire."See you there!Keep in touch,Best!Felipe Sotello.
Hi. The BookExpo should be an interesting event. I'll be coming there from Florida. I'm looking to network with other authors while I'm there. This is my first BookExpo event. It should be interesting. Get in touch.
Hi there! Welcome to the BEA group. This should be fun. Got any good book recommendations?
Hi Cahilll,I like the bookshelf, we seem to have quite a few in common! I also liked the fact that you have read Flann O'Brien - what did you think?
Just thought you should know that I will be checking your bookshelf for suggestions. Great taste!
Hi and thanks for the invite. AM so glad to see that we have loads of the same books. Esp. Captain blue bear. Not many people have read that. Its so sweet. Its the sort of book that would appeal to many people, if they knew about it. I'm trying to read through the new book 'The glass books of the dream eaters' i've only read 200pages of it. It was so hard to get into it, but now, i'm ok and want to know what it all means. I think you would like that book, perhaps worth thinking about? Any suggestions for books i might like as we have pretty much all the same books.
Hello, and thanks for adding me as a friend. Was glad to see 'His Dark Materials' on your Top 10 - last week I ran to the library at night and in the rain to get the Amber Spyglass - I just couldn't have waited a whole day to finish it!What are you reading at the moment? Have started The Bone People bu Keri Hulme, but am not sure what I think yet. Still, I've got another 500 pages to decide!
Thanks for the invite. I teach middle school here (ages 10-15) so my reading is sometimes limited, but I do like to explore different types of lit. Your shelf is interesting and there are a few I think I will have to check out! When will you complete the phd?
Hey Cahill, thanks for adding me as a friend. You are the first. I have perused part of your shelf, you seem to be an intriguing guy, at least from a literary standpoint. Do you mind if I steal ideas from your shelf? Although isn't that the point of the site? Okay well, Boston is supposed to be hit by a ton of snow tonight so I must prepare.... off to find the rock salt! Thanks again.D
Hello. Nice shelf.
Thanks for inviting me in as a "friend" -- my first one -- it got me started in being part of the community! I love this Shelfari (which I've been calling Shelfani until yesterday). I discovered the Explore portion and finding all of the books under most popular tags -- it's a great way to relax -- beats computer solitaire!
Good evening, thanks for the friend add. You've a great reading mind...Look forward to perusing the rest of your shelf.
Hi , Thanks :)Your shelf is really interesting
Hello Cahill, I've noticed we have quite some books in common and share a taste for detectives stories. I saw you reccommending Montalbano to Cinnamon (I do like him as well, only wish he'd sort his lovelife out!), and you have started on the Death of a Red Heroïne too: I was very impressed with the glimpses of life in China you get through it. I'm always glad of recommendations!
Hey!!!Good to see you here in Shelfari! This has become a very international site, I am from Argentina!!! I am living in Seattle now though!!! Wow, you have tons of book!!! would you like to tag them? Sometimes it is easier to know what you have and easier for your new friends to search your shelves as well!! Anyway, just a suggestion! =)Hope you have a great day! I'll check your library, seems interesting!
I noticed many interesting books on your shelf, including some by Bulgakov I have not read yet. Which one do you think is his best (besides Master and Margarita of course!):-)
oh, my chinese detective is a gourmet too. And a poet. He is quoting ancient poems in every turn. And this series will make you hungry too. That is, if you enjoy the descriptions of chinese very-non-vegetarian dishes like: 'duck heads with the skulls removed, so people could easily reach their tongues, or suck out the brains...' Bon Appetit!
Hello! Thank you for your note. At the moment I am finishing When Red Is Black by Qiu Xiaolong. It is the third book of Detective Chen mysteries. It is not so enjoyable as the first one, but i do like the character and I am fascinated by the description of China in the 90s. I've noticed Inspector Maltalbano in your shelf. It is new to me... would you recommend it?
