I love Melissa Marr's world... the characters, the plots, the court intrigue...

I loved the complexities of the relationships, but I don't love the relationships. They felt a bit... wrong for some reason. However much I like this story, it was painful to go through nearly 400 pages of it. Seth got a little too obsessed. I'm not a big fan of Donia. And I wanted Keenan and Ash to work things out.

I loved the characters in this novel and the fact that it was based on an age-old poem/song. The solving of the riddles were unique and definitely not what I was expecting. They were both practical and witty. I finished this in a day -- great read!

I'm disappointed at the number of careless typos and grammatical errors in this book. You'd think that now that's it's gained some degree of publicity, the editors and authors would be more careful.

Other than that, my only thought is that this girl one heck of a man magnet. I would say this was a bit of a fan-fiction-esque teen soap opera, except don't soap operas involve more than one female player?

Not the most exciting of vampire novels. But quick and easy read. Interesting idea... with the circus show and all... but nothing extraordinary.

For one of the most well-known epic fantasies out there, I kind of expected a bit more... fantasy. The plot, the world, and the characters are all fantastic, but I'm not too keen on political intrigue, schemes, wars, and whatnot. Overall, though, still a good read. Whether I will continue the series has yet to be decided...

I love the witty and cheeky tone with which Marie Phillips writes. The gods in this book are hilarious. The idea reminded me a little of American Gods (probably because I read that so recently), but it's very unique and well-done. Great read!

Maybe it's the temporal distance between the publication of this book and the other Den of Shadows books, but the style and setting felt a little different.

It's an interesting idea... but a little lacking in action. She's played the theme of mental battles before, and there's certainly a lengthy one in this book.

Not much to add... my thoughts on the Mortal Instruments series remain the same as when I read the last two books.

One thing I did like though was the moral ambiguity of Valentine's character. I dislike characters in books that are assumed to be all evil. I wish there had been more development and more exploration into the possible good side of him.

Is there a sequel to this? Because Sebastian is most likely still around.

Only the Tale of the Three Brothers struck me as being very good. The other stories were a little too childish. And Dumbledore's notes were not funny as I had hoped they would be, but, rather, a little too much like spark notes.

I love Neil Gaiman because his worlds are so intricate, his plots so complex.

Not much to say except that this was a great book. The idea behind the plot was ingenious as is with most of his books.
