I love C.S. Lewis's wit. And he really gets to the heart of thoughts and actions that lead people astray.

Interesting blend of magic and dystopia.

I feel like I have been reading this for ages. I must have started over a year ago! Truth be told, it was quite slow in the beginning and this is what accounted for my not being able to continue. The second time around, I sped through the beginning and realized that it gets so much more exciting after that! I loved the Darsanga scenes. Once you get over the speed bump, the plot of this book is actually much better than that its predecessors. Glad I finished this, though not sure I'm up to tackling the Imriel series just yet.

It definitely stuck with me, but not sure how I feel about it.

Wow. I loved The Hunger Games but this sequel is all of that and more! One of the best plot-lines I've encountered in a while. I couldn't put this down!

So good -- I couldn't put this down! Reminded me a lot of Battle Royale, but much, much better in its own way. Great characterization and thrilling plot. Can't wait to read the next installment.

Definitely an interesting take on the life of a pastor's kid. At first it seems just downright depressing and makes you really lose faith in many things (especially from a Christian perspective), but by the end I realized that there was a lot to learn from this story. About the ending -- I'll just say that it was a very resolute conclusion.

I really love this book in a I-have-no-idea-what-just-happened kind of way. It's so fantastical and full of randomness -- how can you not love it?

This series just keeps getting better and better. While the first book was sweet and romantic, this one was more about the heroine facing challenges alone and finding her own strengths. I liked that she made mistakes -- shows that she's still human -- even though I was really jumping off my chair at the end from the choices she was making. In any case, I'll be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

To be honest, I picked this up because 1) it seems to have a reputation as a classic favorite among vampire novels, and 2) I've been seeing posters for the TV show all throughout NYC.

Let me just say that Elena is the most annoying, immature, self-centered bitch I have ever spent 500 pages on. Why make your protagonist so obnoxious? I can understand doing this for the sake of character development, but even when she magically transforms (N.B. no transition) into the strong, mature heroine, I failed to be sympathetic.

In other characters, you've got your typical best-friend-turned-rival-turned-bitch, tortured vampire boyfriend, and completely one-dimensional villain. This was classified as horror, but the only thing horrifying about it was the writing.
