Extremely entertaining read! I love Gail Carriger's humor. The entire book is written with a kind of snarky wit. A fun take on the supernatural.

This was a bit of a disappointment. With the inclusions of all the zombies and ninjas, this book loses all of the romance that the original had. But since, the whole point was to be a parody, I at least expected to be funny. Unfortunately, the weird zombie scene combined with the original Victorian England language was just a little off. None of the humor was funny -- just grotesque and weird. Already knowing the plot of a book always makes it more difficult to read for me, but this book didn't have much else to offer so I felt like I was just reading a horrible nightmare version of the original.

I've always meant to read this book because I hear so many great things about it. But I kept putting it off because it felt wierd going back to a children's book after all these years so I never got to it. Now that I finally have, it was SO worth it. The descrptions of feelings and things you normally take for granted are so beautiful. The story is so thought-provoking and you are forced to think about aspects of life that are so often overlooked.

I'm kind of torn about this book. For some reason, I don't want to like it. I'm uneasy about the setting, the language, the relationships... even some of the characters. But at the same time, Carey obviously made the most of a lot of things I didn't like, and I still had a hard time putting it down.

I love C.S. Lewis's stuff for how much they make me think and re-evaluate myself. He had so much insight.

The more I read Maria V. Snyder's stuff, the more I love her. I love how the plot twists and messed with your mind, and I love morally ambiguous characters.

It's interesting how with the Study series we move from no magic to magic while it's the exact opposite for the Glass series. Her last decision completely caught me off guard. Can't wait to see where it goes from there.

Don't be discouraged by its sized. I was pretty shocked too when I got this in the mail was told to read and review it asap. It's HUGE. But it goes by pretty quickly because it's pretty easy to read. My favorite part? I'm impressed by little details. I like the different types of Casters and their creative, non-traditional names. It's a lot harder to buy in 'true love' when it comes to 16-year-olds, but at least you have some interesting characters like Macon. :)

I picked this book up because it has a gorgeous cover. The story turned out to be pretty predictable and cliche though and I thought Patch was a bit of a jerk. Still not sure why the book is called Hush, Hush...
