    Greetings Shelfari friend!

Haven't been around much recently, been a very busy summer (hopefully not over yet either). How did yours go? How are things with you?

I'm on my 70th book so far this year so it's been a pretty good one.

Read anything good recently? Or anything that should be avoided?

Yes, read THE GIRL ... TATOO. I think it would round out your current reads well - at least from what I know of the 34 current reads you have, you need a good, modern thriller. Hey, BTW, how is A CANTICLE ...?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was excellent. It was a mystery on several levels. The best part is there are 2 more great sequels.

I totally agree with what C.B. D said... "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was a great read if you love a good mystery & you don't mind a few gritty/graphic parts. It took me a while to adjust to the tone of the book, but once I did, I was hooked. I've already bought the second boo in the series & can't wait to get started on it.

I loved all the Stieg Larson books. I enjoyed the mysteries and the knowledge I gained about the Swedish culture. I also really like Dan Brown and Ayn Rand (thought it has been over 20 years since I last reread them. I read most of the ones in your shelf, but most were years ago and I don't remember them.

I would definitely recommend "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" to any mystery fan who isn't turned away by a dose of violence and rawness. Since it is translated, it carries a lot of Swedish culture/themes which sometimes can put off readers.

Maybe you would like the dragon book but it doesn't quite fit with the type of books on your bookshelf.

    Hey Butterfly,

    How goes it?

Just started school this week and the body is exhausted but the mind is racing – overall it feels terrific to be back in the classroom.

This summer my latest book was released – “Roam Italy: A Teacher and His Students Take the Ultimate Class Trip.” The book’s website is www.theclassroombook.com if you wanted to check things out.

Possible tornado warnings in NJ this weekend so I best head for cover…
