  • The Digital Photography Book
    • Rated 5 stars

I know I have yet to finish reading this book, and already I'm giving it 5 star. But the book does deserve it. It's well written for novices in digital photography, with bits and pieces of humor in between.

I managed to read a few pages only. Have to return this book to its shop (book-A-licious book-renting shop) because my reading time has somewhat been reduced recently (owing to the night classes I'm attending everyday).

Read it continuously for one day one night on 31 May 2008. Un-put-downable.

  • The Diplomat's Wife

    by Louise Pennington
    • Rated 3 stars

I read this last year, but only found it in Shelfari today. Stories of infidelity and deception. The plot began with the diplomat's wife stumbling upon her long-lost ex-lover during a formal party. Despite being happily married to a loving, caring and financially-stable gentleman - i.e. a diplomat, she was somehow drawn to the temptation of rekindling her old flame. I concluded that regardless of how happy and peaceful one is in one's present life, one will always be lured to explore the possibility of the opposite direction. Forbidden fruit has always been more tempting.

Wow! I've been long searching for this book in Shelfari to be added to my shelf, but only recently I managed to do so, and that was after browsing through Masterpyan's shelf.

This is my super favourite of Faisal Tehrani's. Love love love this novel. So well written, well researched, well everything that I was and am still inclined to believe that half of the story could be true!

  • Eleven Minutes: A Novel (P.S.)
    • Rated 2 stars

I was fined for returning this book late! I don't know why I took so long to finish it. Perhaps owing to my past experience with Coelho's works, I was trying so hard not to be skeptical. Hence, everytime I read it, I had to brush off my negative feeling towards this author. Eleven Minutes major storyline surrounds one's search of her own sexuality. She had succumbed to the easy money offered in prostitution profession, simply because her original plan of becoming a star, failed. She couldn't stand the loneliness, and prostitution was her way of 'separating her soul' from her body. Duh! That reminded me to what Siti Raudah said about Coelho's perception on loneliness - that human beings can survive hunger and poverty but not loneliness! Again, DUH!!
