    Here I Go Again

I call books like this candy floss for the brain. It was a simple, enjoyable read that I could easily see becoming a movie. I liked the premise, but for some reason didn't want a 'happily ever after' ending.

    Gone Girl

I knew a lot of people who read (or tried to read) this book and quit because they didn't like the writing style, the story or the characters. Personally, I was hooked after the very first chapter. I loved the style in which it was written, and genuinely surprised by the story. I would...

    Heads in Beds

Please tell me that this book was self published! Either that or the standards that publishing houses allow has fallen considerably. Don't get me wrong; filled with juicy tidbits and stories, the book was interesting. But I guess as a grammar queen I couldn't get over just how horribly it was...

Please tell me that this book was self published! Either that or the standards that publishing houses allow has fallen considerably. Don't get me wrong; filled with juicy tidbits and stories, the book was interesting. But I guess as a grammar queen I couldn't get over just how horribly it was written. I showed a friend at work one run on sentence that measured 3/4 of a page long! 3/4 of a page! Don't get me wrong though, it had enough secrets on how to score an upgrade, raid the minibar, order in room movies and other luxuries that I guess I would still recommend it. But only for that reason.

    Going Clear

This book was in no way an easy read. Having just come off the Hunger Games trilogy, this was as completely different a book as one could possibly imagine. Heavy with dates, names, facts and footnotes & acknowledgements (30!), I would argue this is the definitive look into the church (cult?)...

This book was in no way an easy read. Having just come off the Hunger Games trilogy, this was as completely different a book as one could possibly imagine. Heavy with dates, names, facts and footnotes & acknowledgements (30!), I would argue this is the definitive look into the church (cult?) known as Scientology. Interestingly though, the author brings up plenty of reasons why the spiritual side of Scientology is beneficial to some, but the outright abuse of some of it's higher ups is not.

    Mockingjay

Not my favorite of the trilogy, that's for sure. I thought it took a long time to really get the story going. But once it did (80% through), it didn't disappoint. It certainly didn't end the way I had envisioned. And I was surprised I was as emotional as I was once it did end. But...

It certainly didn't end the way I had envisioned. And I was surprised I was as emotional as I was once it did end. But considering the dark theme that is "The Hunger Games" trilogy, I shouldn't be surprised it didn't end with sweetness & light.

    The Hunger Games

I had seen the movie last year and absolutely loved it. When I made my usual resolution this year, I knew at once the book I wanted to start with. It was definitely a more emotional story than I had anticipated. I was immediately enthralled by the story and how close the movie stayed to the...
