Hey Shelfarians!

Are books still relevant in our Sky+/iPod/techno/gadget society? Well I certainly think so, and recent studies agree. It seems there has been an upsurge in the popularity of books recently. Some of this is due to the Harry Potter effect and the Dan Brown effect, but it's also due to the popularity of good books too... more »

I have doing alot more reading this year, I think I might actually hit a goal for once, fingers crossed. I've been watching alot of television series on my wii and netflix. If you have access to The Walking Dead, I highly recommend it, great show. Been rewatching Glee and Buffy the Vampire Slayer series and just started the American version of Being Human, but I hear the UK version is better, as usual. ;)

2012 good so far, we got our first snow yesterday, it was actually a nice change from the almost spring like weather we have been having, which is not the norm for Idaho in winter. I am planning a short trip to Las Vegas with my little sister soon, I can't wait, it has been way too long since I have been. I keep thinking of that crazy bungie jump type thing your friends did while you were there, I don't know if I have the guts to do it!

I don't miss Facebook much, I have been spending way too much time watching tv though, downfall of being to easily amused I guess. I don't have cable, so I have been catching up on the cable programs via instant streaming on my Nintendo Wii. Sure, I got the thing so I could work out at home, but why do that when I could watch six episodes of The Walking Dead all in one sitting? Ha ha.

Happy Reading in 2012 and good luck hitting your goal!

Almost forgot to ask....so...what was your final tally for books read last year? I made it to 42, v sad as my goal was 100. Apparently leaving facebook just left me with more time to watch tv. ;)

Hey there, just stopped by to see what you have been up too, looks like you have been on a Patterson jaunt? I was looking through some old Patterson's at the bookstore the other day, if only he wasn't so hit and miss! When he hits, I just don't want to put the book down. But when he misses, I want to send him a bill for the hours of my life I will never get back! ;) Hope all is well on your side of the pond. Oh, and glad to see your review of The Informers, that will def not be on my TBR list any time soon.

Almost forgot about this site, somebody commented about it on FB so I decided to check back. Yes Zumba is everywhere, it's so much fun. I'm still on FB daily but quit playing all the games except for one. I have read hundreds of books since I last posted in here, this got to be too much work. Hope you are well.

    Hi,

I see you've read a quite a few books that garnered them a 5 star rating. I enjoy your rating system, actually I kind of count on it, as you've never steered me wrong!

I know what you mean, Rich! I'm just so out of the habit of posting @ Shelfari. It is cool to know it's still here. It's fun that we're connected there too :)
