how do you find the island?Interesting enough to read?
How We Die is a little macabre and quite fascinating. In telling how it is we die the author tells a lot about how we live, a story he expanded in a subsequent book. Hope you enjoy it, if that is the right choice of words.
Am adding it right now. Have recently read a whole slew of books, none of which I would particularly recommend. I need a good one!!
Picoult is the same for me. Plain Truth was ok, but they're all a little disturbing. My Sister's Keeper has been my favorite of hers, but I haven't read too many.
well, so far it seems a little too ambitious. we'll see how it goes.
I'm looking forward to that one...been meaning to read it for a while actually. What do you think of The Wet Engine?
Congo was a pretty intense book, very fascinating. The ending was the worst EVER. Actually very typical Creighton. It was as if he got writer's block and the best he could come up with was, "Out of nowhere a hot air balloon arrives and everyone is saved." THE END. Totally lame.
Hey, Becky! I thought Escape was crazy! She's a strong woman. I kept wondering how she remembered so many details--my brain doesn't work that way. What did you think. Yeah--let's definitely do breakfast--let's e-mail and pick a date!
I am LOVING My Sister's Keeper. It's hard to read as a mother. I would like to think I wouldn't do what the mom did, but I don't know how I would react if I were in that position. I really like the characters though. And I'm dying to know what the dog is for!!! Haven't gotten that far yet.
I just finished an AWESOME book called "One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd." It's a must-read. Check it out on my shelf. You'd love it.
So you are Sara's friend who's going to come to book club? Awesome! We have lots of mutual friends!
Thanks so much for accepting my invitation to friendship.Have a nice day.
Yay! Another friend! Maybe we will get to meet sometime! Thanks, it's our little beagle. I'm a little old school freaked out to just post a photo of myself. :(
On The Innocent Man, I don't know if I can give it a fair shake because I lived in Oklahoma for 10 years and was working for The Oklahoman when Ron Williamson was exonerated. It was an interesting read, but I already knew the story minus some of the details of course.
Beck,I'm loving this site. Thanks for the recommendation! Just finished Peace Like a River. Incredible.
Hey (Becky?), Thanks for dropping by. Grisham is incredibly talented! I didn't know that he was working on a new one - that's exciting. My article can be read here: http://www.relevantmagazine.com/life_article.php?id=7451Thanks.
Hey Becky: The Testament is my favorite. Maybe followed by A Time to Kill. The Testament's plot line follows closely to the type of work I do with estate planning, so that was a fun read for me. I do have the Mother Teresa books... you'll enjoy them. Jay
Hey Becky... Looks like you've read quite a few Grisham novels.... Which one did you enjoy the most? - Jay.
Oh, good. I felt the same way about "The Dive..." So "The Wedding Dress" isn't that good? I am enjoying "A Long Way Down," and "A Thousand Splendid Suns" is on my holds list at the library.
P.S. - Sweet new picture! Are you at the Denver Botanical Gardens? I think I remember seeing that on your blog...
