I have just started it. I read her other two and really liked them, so I am sure I will love this one. I am reading it on my iPad, trying to decide if I need a Kindle. This is the fifth book I have read on it and I hate to say it but I like it. Do you like yours?? Which one do you have. I am trying to decided between the $79 one and the touch one.
I just started reading Fahrenhiet 451 today and found an recognised an allusion to Gulliver's Travels in it. "It is computed that eleven thousand persons have at several times suffered death rather than submit to break their eggs at the smaller end." I can't believe I recognized that and my first thought was his adventure with the lilliputians.
No problem. I am happy to see what everyone is reading. We are leaving for Priest Lake, Idaho on Monday for a week and I have a stack of books to take with me. Right now I am busy getting ready for the WEDDING this Sat. and can't seem to settle down long enough to read anything! I will be at the market on Sept. 26th.
So I was sort of disappointed with Water for Elephants. You? The research she had to do to write it was impressive, but the writing seemed a little off. Forced literary, perhaps? I just remember being really aware of the writing instead of it being an invisible vehicle that transported me to another place.
