Hello there! Have you read the Road by Cormac McCarthy? I didn't see it in our books in common, and it seems like since you like so many dystopian books that you'd like that one quite a bit. =) It's one of my favourites.
The only hard thing about it is McCarthy's desire not to use much punctuation, which makes it kind of hard to get into, but other than that it's marvelous book.
Anywho, that's just a suggestion. If you read it tell me what you think. =)
I saw some posts you made in a group (i think its YA sci-fi) and am checking out your shelf....we have similar tastes! I loooooove the Hunger Games series. I have to second The Handmaids Tale- its one of my faves.....also since you like Hunger Games so much you must check out The Running Man by Stephen King (if you've seen or heard of the movie with Arnold Schwartzneggar its nothing like the novel its supposedly based on- and its really bad, lol), also have you read Ayn Rand's Anthem? Its another good dystopian story. One last thing, i also love 13 Reason's Why and you'll probably like this book I just finished called Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Anyway, stop by my shelf if you like and let me know if you have any suggestions, i'm always looking for a new read!!
I'm getting sucked into Catching Fire! I started it while riding the bus and the bus ride flew by because I was so engrossed! I thought Carrie Ryan's writing was great, especially for something YA. My review of The Forest of Hands and Teeth is up at blog. I'm also hosting a poll for my next book giveaway on my blog and Mockingjay is currently in the lead. You can vote, too, if you like! But today is the last day to vote!
I saw your post in the dystopian group, re: what is your favorite? I then looked at your review of The Hunger Games and noticed that you love a lead female role (as do I). So, have you read The Handmaid's Tale? That is my favorite dystopian novel (with 1984 coming in second). If you haven't read it yet, I strongly suggest it!
