    The Poet says

    Greetings brisbean,
I see that you are one of the few who have read the autobiography of Boy George. When Culture Club made their appearance here in the U.S. I was very much taken with the vocal talent of this young man. I felt that the negative and prying aspects of the press was, not only unnecesary, but downright unfair and cruel. This was a young man of true talent, albiet an insecure one. I saw him on television when he was interviewed by Joan Rivers and was struck by his shyness and reluctance to "croon like Sinatra", upon Rivers' request. Eventually, Boy George did let out a few lines of one of his songs and his voice was a marvel. Personally, I found his androgenous dress singular and amusing. Boy George was downright fun. Of course, that illusion was shattered by the reading of his autobiography. It was heartbreaking to read of the tragedies of his life, his love for Jon Moss and the ultimate breakup of that relationship and the subsequent despair that led to George's downfall and drug abuse, which nearly destroyed his life.

I recently found and purchased his albumn "The Best of Boy George and The Culture Club." The solos of Boy George's creation are wonderous, particularly "Reborn." I'm in search of his other solo albumns. I can't deny that I found his lifestyle somewhat shocking . . . the alcohol, drugs and promiscuous sex - but that seems to go along with much of the punk and rock scene; Boy George wasn't the first nor the last to live such a lifestyle. Some of his experiences were hilarious. . . such as driving to the home of the elderly gentleman who lived in the country and who recognized Boy George as "one of his favorites" and proceeded to invite George and his cronies into his house for tea.

I would like to know more of his current life.
    Cheers,
    The Poet
